How is net salary calculated in Venezuela?
In Venezuela, net salary is calculated by subtracting social security contributions (IVSS (Social Security)) and income tax (ISLR (Income Tax)) from the annual gross salary.
ISLR (Income Tax) uses a progressive scale. Rates range from 6 % for the lowest incomes to 34 % for the highest. Only the portion of income that falls within each bracket is taxed at that rate, never the full salary.
IVSS (Social Security) contributions amount to approximately 4 % of gross salary, funding the pension, healthcare and other social benefits available to employees in Venezuela.
This calculator uses official data from SENIAT (seniat.gob.ve) for 2026. Results are indicative; for exact calculations or specific situations (personal deductions, special regimes) consult a tax adviser or the country's tax authority.
⚠️ ISLR brackets are based on Tax Units (UT) set by SENIAT, which change frequently due to inflation. Verify the current UT value at seniat.gob.ve before using this calculator.
