How is net salary calculated in Guinea?
In Guinea, net salary is calculated by subtracting social security contributions (CNSS (National Social Security Fund)) and income tax (IRSEM (Employment Income Tax)) from the annual gross salary.
IRSEM (Employment Income Tax) uses a progressive scale. Rates range from 0 % for the lowest incomes to 25 % for the highest. Only the portion of income that falls within each bracket is taxed at that rate, never the full salary.
CNSS (National Social Security Fund) contributions amount to approximately 5 % of gross salary, funding the pension, healthcare and other social benefits available to employees in Guinea.
This calculator uses official data from DNI Guinea (mef.gov.gn) for 2026. Results are indicative; for exact calculations or specific situations (personal deductions, special regimes) consult a tax adviser or the country's tax authority.
The first GNF 5,000,000/year is exempt. The employee contributes 5% to the CNSS (pension and health). The employer adds 18%. The Guinean franc (GNF) is used in Guinea-Conakry (not to be confused with Guinea-Bissau or Equatorial Guinea).
