How is net salary calculated in Lebanon?
In Lebanon, net salary is calculated by subtracting social security contributions (NSSF (National Social Security Fund)) and income tax (Wage Tax (Lebanese Tax Code)) from the annual gross salary.
Wage Tax (Lebanese Tax Code) uses a progressive scale. Rates range from 2 % for the lowest incomes to 25 % for the highest. Only the portion of income that falls within each bracket is taxed at that rate, never the full salary.
NSSF (National Social Security Fund) contributions amount to approximately 5 % of gross salary, funding the pension, healthcare and other social benefits available to employees in Lebanon.
This calculator uses official data from Ministry of Finance Lebanon (finance.gov.lb) for 2026. Results are indicative; for exact calculations or specific situations (personal deductions, special regimes) consult a tax adviser or the country's tax authority.
Lebanon has been experiencing a severe economic and financial crisis since 2019. The Lebanese pound (LBP) has lost over 98% of its value against the dollar. Salary tax brackets have not been updated to reflect inflation, so most formal-sector income falls into the 25% top bracket. This calculator is indicative only.
