How is net salary calculated in Philippines?
In Philippines, net salary is calculated by subtracting social security contributions (SSS + PhilHealth + Pag-IBIG) and income tax (Income tax (TRAIN Law 2023)) from the annual gross salary.
Income tax (TRAIN Law 2023) uses a progressive scale. Rates range from 0 % for the lowest incomes to 35 % for the highest. Only the portion of income that falls within each bracket is taxed at that rate, never the full salary.
SSS + PhilHealth + Pag-IBIG contributions amount to approximately 7,75 % of gross salary, funding the pension, healthcare and other social benefits available to employees in Philippines.
This calculator uses official data from Bureau of Internal Revenue Philippines (bir.gov.ph) for 2026. Results are indicative; for exact calculations or specific situations (personal deductions, special regimes) consult a tax adviser or the country's tax authority.
Contributions: SSS pension (~4.5%), PhilHealth health (2.25%) and Pag-IBIG housing (1%). SSS rates vary by salary level (4.5% used as reference). The first ₱250,000/year is exempt under the TRAIN Law.
