How is net salary calculated in Cambodia?
In Cambodia, net salary is calculated by subtracting social security contributions (NSSF (National Social Security Fund)) and income tax (TOI (Tax on Income from Employment)) from the annual gross salary.
TOI (Tax on Income from Employment) uses a progressive scale. Rates range from 0 % for the lowest incomes to 20 % for the highest. Only the portion of income that falls within each bracket is taxed at that rate, never the full salary.
NSSF (National Social Security Fund) contributions amount to approximately 4,6 % of gross salary, funding the pension, healthcare and other social benefits available to employees in Cambodia.
This calculator uses official data from General Dept. of Taxation Cambodia (tax.gov.kh) for 2026. Results are indicative; for exact calculations or specific situations (personal deductions, special regimes) consult a tax adviser or the country's tax authority.
Employee contributes to NSSF: health insurance (2.6%) and pension (2%). The first KHR 1,000,000/month (KHR 12,000,000/year) is exempt. The US dollar is widely used alongside the Cambodian riel.
