How is net salary calculated in Algeria?
In Algeria, net salary is calculated by subtracting social security contributions (CNAS (National Social Security Fund)) and income tax (IRG (Global Income Tax) 2024) from the annual gross salary.
IRG (Global Income Tax) 2024 uses a progressive scale. Rates range from 0 % for the lowest incomes to 35 % for the highest. Only the portion of income that falls within each bracket is taxed at that rate, never the full salary.
CNAS (National Social Security Fund) contributions amount to approximately 9 % of gross salary, funding the pension, healthcare and other social benefits available to employees in Algeria.
This calculator uses official data from DGI Algeria (mfdgi.gov.dz) for 2026. Results are indicative; for exact calculations or specific situations (personal deductions, special regimes) consult a tax adviser or the country's tax authority.
The first DZD 240,000/year (DZD 20,000/month) is exempt from IRG since the 2022 reform. The employee contributes 9% to the CNAS (pension, health and other benefits). The employer contributes 26%.
