How is net salary calculated in Thailand?
In Thailand, net salary is calculated by subtracting social security contributions (Social Security Fund (SSF)) and income tax (Personal Income Tax (PIT)) from the annual gross salary.
Personal Income Tax (PIT) uses a progressive scale. Rates range from 0 % for the lowest incomes to 35 % for the highest. Only the portion of income that falls within each bracket is taxed at that rate, never the full salary.
Social Security Fund (SSF) contributions amount to approximately 5 % of gross salary, funding the pension, healthcare and other social benefits available to employees in Thailand.
This calculator uses official data from Revenue Department Thailand (rd.go.th) for 2026. Results are indicative; for exact calculations or specific situations (personal deductions, special regimes) consult a tax adviser or the country's tax authority.
SSF contribution is 5% of salary, capped at THB 750/month (THB 9,000/year). The first THB 150,000 of income is exempt. Employment income deduction (50%, max THB 100,000) and personal deduction (THB 60,000) also reduce taxable income.
