Electricity Tariff Comparator

Enter your real monthly consumption and compare any tariff you find in the market. No pre-loaded tariffs — you decide what to compare.

Potencia contratada
Tarifas a comparar
Introduce los precios de cada tarifa que hayas encontrado. Los encontrarás en la web de la comercializadora o en tu factura actual.

How to use the comparator

This comparator has no pre-loaded tariffs. You enter the prices of the tariffs you have found in the market — your current contract or a new offer — and the tool calculates exactly what you would pay with each one using your real month-by-month consumption.

Where do I find tariff prices?

On each provider's website, in the tariffs or conditions section, you will find the "power charge" (€/kW/day, two values: P1 peak and P2 off-peak) and the "energy charge" (€/kWh, three values: P1 peak, P2 mid and P3 valley). If the tariff only shows two energy prices (peak/off-peak), enter the off-peak price for both P2 and P3.

How the bill is calculated

The Spanish electricity bill has three components: the power charge (fixed daily cost per kW contracted), the energy charge (variable cost per kWh consumed in each period), and taxes (Electricity Tax at 5.11% and VAT at 21%). The distribution of your consumption across P1/P2/P3 periods is estimated using average weights for a standard household.

Self-consumption and surplus

If you have solar panels, each month you export part of your production to the grid when you generate more than you consume. In the annual calculation, the total kWh exported reduces the energy charge: August's surplus can offset January's higher grid consumption. The compensation is capped at the annual energy charge — it cannot reduce the power charge or taxes.

Frequently asked questions

Why are there no pre-loaded tariffs?

Provider prices change frequently and vary by region, contract type and sales channel. You enter the exact prices being offered to you, so the result reflects your real situation, not a generic price.

Where do I find my current tariff prices?

On your electricity bill, in the "bill breakdown" or "applied prices" section. You can also find them in your provider's customer area. Look for values in €/kW/day for power and €/kWh for energy.

What are P1, P2 and P3 periods?

These are the three time-of-use periods of the 2.0TD tariff. P1 (peak) is the most expensive: workdays during high-demand hours. P2 (mid) has an intermediate price. P3 (valley) is the cheapest: workday nights and all weekend. If your tariff only has two energy prices, enter the off-peak price for both P2 and P3.

How does solar surplus compensation work?

kWh exported to the grid each month are compensated at the agreed price. In the annual calculation, total kWh exported reduces the energy charge: a high-surplus month (August) offsets a high-consumption month (January). The compensation never exceeds the annual energy charge.

What is the P1 and P2 power charge?

The power charge is the fixed cost you pay for having electricity connected, regardless of consumption. In the 2.0TD tariff it has two bands: P1 for peak hours (workdays 8am–midnight) and P2 for the rest. Each band has a different price (€/kW/day) applied to your contracted kW.

Why might results differ from my actual bill?

The distribution of your consumption across P1/P2/P3 periods is estimated with average weights. Your real distribution depends on your habits. Some tariffs also have discounts, minimum terms or supplements not reflected in base prices.

Are VAT and electricity tax the same for all tariffs?

Yes — Electricity Tax (5.11%) and VAT (21%) are identical for all providers in mainland Spain. The Canary Islands use IGIC instead of VAT at a different rate. Meter rental (~€0.81/month) is also not included.
